Hello all, it is time to announce the current plan for the annual DeLorean Owners Club UK main event!
This year as we have previously discussed the plan is to go to the English Lake District on the weekend of 20th -22nd September 2024.
Details to be finalised but are likely to involve scenic drives, a club dinner, visits to museums and trips out among some of the best scenery the UK has to offer - but until then : save the date!!

I'm getting weekly grief from the Miss about her desperation to getting something booked in (Hotel wise) for the DOC event as the closer to the time we get, the more expensive hotels will become. I've had to tell her weekly "still no more update".
When can we expect an update of information about this please?
I'm on holiday in August, amongst other things, so I'm needing to get stuff sorted financially for this before I leave the country etc.
(Trying not to be pushy)

Yehh, I have no excuses as I have not had a hand in organizing it. Other people have put in all the hard work. I think the issue is getting a magazine out to publicize the event being the issue. Although my 'gut' feeling is it wont be massively attended to to the mini Eurofest having taken place.

Only just saw this on FB (which I rarely visit these days). Felt like I'd been out of the loop
I'll see if I can book up. No chance of DeLorean'ing it though - 600+ miles is beyond my trust in the car, or my poor back. That said, it's about the people for me.

Excellent stuff! Leanne's already got us booked in for the Friday and Saturday night.
For those not on FB, the hotel is the Rusland Pool Hotel, Ulverston:

Newby Bridge, Ulverston, United Kingdom, LA128AA
Check in from 4pm.
Check out 10:30am.
My car is now back together again after a fix to stop me bleeding oil all over the road. So right now, without wanting to tempt fate too much, we'll be in the D' for the weekend. We'll be looking at about 187 miles and 3.5hrs looking at the map. Funnily enough it's along a road on the way to Barrow-in-Furness, which I went along for the first time just 3 weeks ago when I went to Barrow for the first time for work. Nice road actually.
Fingers crossed for a nice weather weekend.

I'm booked! Looking forward to it!
Now just need to extract the car from the lockup and get her ready for a road trip!
